About
I live in Belfast and have been a visual artist for more than 30 years. My work has encompassed all forms of fine art (Painting, Photography and Printmaking).
The broad subject matter is based on the Irish landscape and captures many aspects of this unique and changing environment. Taking a cultural and spiritual perspective, the paintings become moments in time, relating to this unique landscape.
Previously as a business manager for industrial adhesives, I have had a unique experience on how objects (industrial and artistic) can be created from concept to completion. Using materials usually associated within the manufacturing sector, I have been able to utilise these materials to add shape, depth and form to my work.
The images on the home page are from my exhibition ‘Lines in the Land’,which was at The Engine Room Gallery Belfast in June 2011.
Gallery 3 “Drifting Fluidity” are a selection of paintings from this exhibition in The Linenhall Library Belfast March 2013.
Gallery 4 “Homecoming” are works from exhibition in Austins, Derry City of Culture 2013 where I transformed the Edwarian windows into an “On street Art Gallery” April 2013.
Gallery 5 “Summer Nocturnes” are works from an exhibition in Ballyhackamore Library Belfast. The work was were inspired by a camping trip to Donegal getting away from the light polution of the city.
My work can be viewed in Artisan Gallery Belfast and Gallery 1608 Bushmills.
My work is currently in private collections in UK and Ireland, USA, Australia, Europe and I have exhibited in galleries across Ireland. I have also exhibited at the Royal Ulster Academy.
